ST. HELIER'S-KOHI BUS SERVICE.
— I rXo tie Editor.) Sir.—Perusing the time-table and card of information of the above service, it appears plainly visible that the St. HelierVKohi residents are not getting what could be called a fair go, so far a = fares are concerned. Undoubtedly- the service is a good one, with a splendid fleet of buses. But the fact remains that it is the local residents who are the main support of this enterprise, and they are really the main attraction lor a srwidly number of the passengers from the town end. Now. what appears to be most unfaiT is the comparison of fares between city people and local resicents. This service makes a charge of 6d to the city f<->- between Waatartia Road and Queen Street, or vice ver?a. Now. these people have their own 'ounoil service a* well, which includes tram to Remuera terminus and council bus beyond. R:dinc on their own service they would be obliged to pay a 7d fare on the same route. The bus service also allows the city resident.-" a concession card of Itri'ps for 4/6, which can be used several times a day. Sunday included, between Waiatarua Road and Queen Street, and 1 think in all fairne=~. and ~cein2 »c have no opposition service, that our buses should allow us a 4 f> concession card tn Remuera terminu-, Lnitpad of compelling us to buy a through t> ti weekly ticket, which is only available once daily, Sunday not included. Tin- would at l<-a*t put u> on the mi mo footing a- our « v t y friends, who have the benefit of an opposition service.—l am, etc., HOPEFUL.
