EARLY POTATO CROP.
LARGE AREA TO BE PLANTED.
The area of potato crop in Franklin this year promises to be a record one. The greater part of the Pukekohe Hill is under the plough, and in the Mauku, Waiuku, Waiau and Bombay districts preparations are being made for planting a considerable area. On the hills behind Waiuku. attempts are being made to grow specially early potatoes and some of these are already showing above ground.
