Addressing a large audience at the Royal Colonial Institute, Sydney, recently, Mr. W. Bankes Amery, the British Government's representative Tor migration in Australia. ...referred especially to the example set by Western Australia"in regard to immigration generally, and said: " The settlement of families in Western Australia in country which was but virgin bush yesterday constitutes probably the most courageous scheme of colonisation In any country to-day. On this side or Australia I have found very small appreciation of the enormous efforts which have been put rorward by Western Australia, with its limited population and comparatively small resources. In connection with that great scheme, which, I believe, will rank as one or the most successful colonisation project! ever undertaken,"
