LYTTELTON WATERFRONT.
A BUSY DAY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") . CHRISTCHURCH, this day. While the unemployment committee is looking about 1 to find work for large numbers of men, there is a shortage of labour on the waterfront at Lyttelton, though it is estimated that 600 men were employed on the waterfront this morning. The shortage is expected to be of brief duration, and ■ will' be 'minimised after the departure of five steamers, which are scheduled to leave this evening.
