The North Island team will be chosen at the conclusion of the South Auckland-Auck-land match to-morrow. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL MEET. A meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby League was held last evening. Mr. J. Carlaw presiding. The secretary reported that the selectors had requested that Carroll and Desmond, two Wellington forwards, should be included in the South Auckland team against Auckland on Saturday. The president said that he had vetoed the proposal. It would not be fair to the South Auckland League,'and might lead to a rupture. Mr. E. Stallworthy said that the president was to be congratulated on the stand that be had taken. Mr. W. Swinnerton said that the South Auckland League might have been agreeable to play the two men. The president replied that there would be an opportunity for the men to play in Auckland on July 7. Mr. E. 11. Muir said that his co-selectors wished to see Carroll hooking against Townsend on Saturday, to assist them in selecting a hooker for the North Island team. ' The president's action was endorsed. While the discussion was proceeding a telephone message was received that South Auckland wished to include a Lower 'Waikato player in their team against Auckland. It was decided to approve of the proposal. Various matters in connection with the proposed English tour were discussed, and it was decided to notify the different leagues, through their delgates, that facilities would be given for supporters of the code to travel with the team.
