TATE GOES TO AFRICA
WITH M.C.C. TOURING TEAM.

The "Weekly Dispatch" understands that the Marylebone Club is sending a team to South Africa in the autumn, with A. E. Gilligan as captain! Maurice Tate has accepted an invitation to go with the team. — (Sydney "Sun.")
There were hopes in Auckland that Maurice Tate would be secured as a player-coach by the Auckland Cricket Association, but if the report mentioned in the above cable be well founded it means that he is not considering the Auckland offer, which requires the coach to sail for New Zealand in September.
