MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Alburnia.—The manager reports that for the week ending 19th inst-. timbering 'he Norwegian level has been in hand. The Orlando level has been picked up, retimbered, and rails laid from I!H> feet to a point 215 feet from the entrance of the level, leaving a further 160 feet to reach the rise.
Maaaataiari. — The mine manager reports that during the week the east crosscut was advanced 23ft; total for contract, 200 ft The country is of a splendid description, and water is still issuing from the face. On the Caledonia reef the rise is now ap S6ft. The reef is a mixture of country rock and quartz stringers. Some of the stringers look very favourable for making gold.
New Waiotahi.—The mine manager reports that the drive hillward on the Walo-tahl-Cambria reef has been advanced 6ft for the week. On the right-hand side of the drive is the footwall country rock, carrying a strong black flinty and small mineral seams: the reef quartz is of a mild nature, and most promising for gold The drive seaward on the bangingwall leader has been advanced 4ft for the week. The leader has almost junctioned with the main reef, and next week should see this well in hand.
