PITTSBURG SMASH.
HEAVY DEATH ROLL. WASHINGTON, June IS. It transpires that 23 people were killed in the Cincinnatd-Washington express train smash at Pittsbury. The Washington express was at a standstill when tho accident happened. After the express had stopped the trainman went back half a mile and posted a red flare, thus fulfilling the regulations. After the collision the flare was found still burning. How the two enginedrivers, both of whom were killed, passed it is a mystcrv.— (A. and N.Z.—Svdney "Sun.")
