She had already given two sums ot £1 each. S'ne is Mrs. Davies (73), of Chancery Lane, £arr. Eleven of her sons served in the war and five of them were tolled. The mayor told the story to Lord Derby, who was so touched By it that he at once ""•rote a cheque for £30 towards the deficit. :
