BANKS AND INSURANCE BRISK. OTHER LINES STEADY. A fair amount of business was transacted in bank shares on 'Change, and insurance stocks with comparatively fewtransactions advanced in price. There was a little better inquiry for Government war loans, but few lines changed hands at the prices offered. Soldiers 5J per cent loan, however, sold at £99 10/, and an extra half-crown was paid yesterday. The 4* per cent loan, 1935-39" could be placed" at £96 7/6. while £97 2/6 is offered for the loan maturing in 1930. For the 5 per cent loan buyers offer ! £98 5/, and for the inscribed issue 5/ less is quoted. New Zgafoucl Farmers' Fertiliser sold at £."> 2/ prior to the payment of the 'dividend. Buyers now offer £4 14/6 ■ex div. Dalgety, Ltd. shares -are wanted at fifteen guineas, but the lowest seller *isked £10 5/. Buyers of Goldsbrough JMort shares now offer 49/3, while National Mortgage changed hands at 7i>/3. Farmers Auctioneering shares are wanted at 70/, and buyers of New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency oifer £94 and £79 for the respective issues ex div. just paid. Sanford. A sharp rise took place this week in Ohinem'uri Mines. Ltd. shares, sales being made from 4/3 to 6/. This was due to good sulphide ore being met with in the Camoola lode. Waihi shares sold at 18/9 and Kawarau from 7/8 to 7/1; Albiirnia shares sold down to 5/3. and Lucky Shot from 1/5 to 1/9, and back to 1/3. A sale of Majestic shares took place at the third call yesterday at 1/3. This mine adjoins the Ohinpfniiri at Maratoto.
