SPIRITED PISTOL BATTLE.
' • t BANDIT KILLED IN HOLD-UP. BOSTON. Mass., May 6. George Mastoris is believed to hava 1 been fatally wounded after a spirited 1 pistol battle with Lawrence S. Bearce, . bank manager, and Harold Cameron, a policeman, -when the bandit held up a 1 branch of the First National Bank here to-day. Mastoris fired two shots on r entering the bank and shouted: "Everybody hold up your hands. I haven't 2 shot a man for five years. I want - money. You can't get it by working." ! He thrust a gun into the face of Douglas C. Campbell, the receiving teller, and forced him to fill a bag with 17,000 dollars. Then Bearce opened fire. A duel ensued while two customers stood ' in the middle of the door with their ' j hands up. Cameron arrived, emptied his 1 j revolver and was reloading his gun when i j Bearce shot the robber in the head. ! i
