MAGISTRATE GIVES HTM A CHANCE j I This morning at about 10.30, Henry j Parlman, who was at the city markets. i was observed to take a cucumber from a bench and place it in his pocket. He ■ was seen by an assistant and later : arrested. When he appeared at the Police Court not long afterwards Parlman admitted stealing the elongated vegetable, which was valued at 1/, the property of Turners and Growers. Accused, said Sub-Inspector Lewin. was 74, and had never been in trouble before. Mr. Poynton convicted Parlman, and j ordered him to come up for sentence j when called upon.
