RETURN FROM ISLAND TOUR. MESSAGES TO THE NATIVES. (By Tele?r:ipti.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. Yesterday afternoon the Tutanekai steamed into Wellington Harbour, bringing the Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson on their return from their tour to the Cook Islands and Samoa. Their Excellencies thoroughly enjoyed their experiences, in which both duty and pleasure were combined. Receptions in their honour were held at all points visited, and on each occasion the Governor-General, in his capacity as the King's representative, addressed the people, conveying to them personal me--*ages received by wireless from His Majesty himself. In addition, hi- Excellency also touched upon administration matters, assuring the natives of New Zealand's deep interest in their welfare and of the (lovernmetit's de-ire to work hand-in-hand with them ii. promoting the wellbeing of all the island people.
