A generous contribution towards the work of the Auckland City Mission was made as the result of a Jasper Calder evening at Dixieland on Monday evening. In the course of the evening Mr Calder and his company gave sevcrai selected items, which were heartily encored and at intervals Jasper himself performed on the drums to the meat appreciation of the audience
Very little of the butter which has been manufactered in Gisborne this year has been sold in England, the factories holding their produce off the market with a view to obtaining better prices than have been offered, says the Poverty Bay "Herald."
