BOOMERANG-THROWING IN LONDON.
Do you know (says a letter from London) that it is possible nowa-days to see an Australian man of letters disporting himself in public with, the boomerang in London? Mr. H. C. Chomley, editor of the "British Australasian," says he considers boomerangthrowing by far the best exercise for middle-aged men, and he has discovered suitable sites for engaging in the pastime on. Saturday afternoons in the open spaces of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. He throws with such accuracy that the other day his kpomerang returned and hit him in. the pit of the stomach while he was in the act of explaining the peculiarities of boomerangs to a Boy Scout. Figuratively speaking, Mr. Chomley's speeches used to perform a somewhat similar act when he was an Australian Freetrader. The accident with the real boomerang did not deter him, however; nor was he deterred when another of his boomerangs nearly cut short the bright young life of a Pekingese, valued at £100, the pet and property of a lady who was looking on.
