CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
SECRETARY APPOINTED
A full meeting of the council of the [Auckland Chamber of Commerce wah held this morning for the purpose of selecting a secretary to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. H. C. Tewsley. Mr. F. A. Hellaby presided. There were 97 applications for the position. These had been reduced to three, and the council spent a lot of time carefully considering the qualifications of the candidates. Finally it was decided to appoint Mr. E. }>. Kr-ale. D.Sc., MX M.Com., LL.B., Mr. Ne3le ie at the present time a member of the staff fit the Government Statistician, Wellington.
