FIXTURES. June 12—Ash burton T.C. June 13. 23—Auckland T.C. Winter. Mr. H. F. Xicoll has sold the four-year-old mare Sea Pearl, by Nelson Bingen from Pearl Child, to Mr. G. McMillan and she will join Dillon Wilkes in R. B. Berry's stable.>It is doubtful if the pacer Linden will race again. Linden was a very fine pacer on right-handed courses and has some capital performances to his credit, accomplished on the Auckland track. The Dominion Handicap, the chief race for unlioppled trotters, at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's November * meeting, will in future be decided on the first day in place of the third, while the class "has been tightened up from 4.43 to 4.35. This will confine the race to only the best class trotters.

The Shrew, which won the June Handicap at the Hawke's Bay Trotting Club's meeting: on Thursday, is owned

by Mr. J. H. Lloyd, who for a great many years has been a solid supporter of the sport and who lives at Hastings. The Shrew is by Hal Zolock from Nparaima, and she was bred by her owner. She is a useful sort and won the chief event at the Hawke's Bay Club's meeting earlier in the season.

As the result of further scratchings in connection with the Xew Zealand Sapling Stakes, for two-year-olds, included in the programme of the AshbuTton Trotting Club's winter meeting to be held next Saturday, there are nine horses left in the race. Those scratched recently are as follow: Mr. R. M. Morten's blk c by Matchlight—Bright Alice, Mr. R. M. Morten's eh f by Matchlight— Coldstream Bells marc, Mr. .T. MoNeill's b f by Coldstream Bells—Frank Robbins mare.

As the result of negotiation? the Oamaru Racine and Trotting Clubs tonight decided to co-operate and hold their meetings on the racecourse. The Trotting Club agreed to spend £ for £ with the Raring Club up to £4000 on improvements, and the alteration, erection and removal of buildings. In explaining the position, Mr. H. S Orbell said the Racing Club during the past five years had suffered a loss of £3400. or nearly £700 a year. On the other hand, the Trotting Club has made substantial profits.
