The City council to-night received * petition from 39 confectioners asking that no more licenses be granted to "ro]J down" parloure. During the discussion it transpired thai one parlour had been open in the city for a fortnight, unknown to the By-lam' Committee. It was decided to cancel- t&t permit for that \ roprietor immediately and to grant - o more licenses. ■*«
