NEW LYNN FATALITY.

DEATH OF MARRIED WOMAN. STRUCK BY MOTOR LORRY. An accident, which ended fatally, occurred at New Lynn, a little after five o'clock on Saturday evening, when Mrs. Eva Haskell, aged 50, who resided at Bollard Avenue, was knocked down by a motor lorry and sustained a fracture of the skull. Mrs. Haskell was brought into the Auckland Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at an early hour yesterday morning. The scene of the accident was near the New Lynn Congregational Church. The lorry was being driven by Mr. Owen Courtney, orchardist, of Henderson Valley, and was proceeding in the direction Of Henderson. Mr. Courtney stated that Mrs. Haskell was standing on the edge of the concrete road as if waiting for a bus, and that she suddenly stepped out. apparently to cross the road. Mrs. Haskell is survived by her husband and a grown-up son.
