FRENCH UNDERCUTTING

The Federation of British Industries, in a statement, says that many British to New Zealand complain that owing to the depreciation of the franc French firms are seriously undercutting Britain in the New Zealand market, despite the preferential tariff. The federation points out that since tbe withdrawal of legislation against depreciated currencies when the German mark was re-established, no means exists to safeguard British traders ■'sain?t eountri. - with depreciated currencies.
