CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' CARNIVAL

The Town Hall was packed to full capacity last night when, among the many attractions, the bobbed hair championship attracted some ninety odd entries. The judge, Mr. W. Blomfield, oast his artistic eye over the contestants who were ranged in rovrs on the stage, and. with professional assistance, I selected a round dozen. Then the audi- [ ence took a hand and signified their j preference by acclamation. The young j ladies were finally reduced to two. and) the winner proved to be Miss Kathleen j Cooper, of Grey Lynn, whose win was thoroughly deserved. She received £•">, and her "hairdresser, Mr. Sharkey, of ! Great Xorth Road, gets the champion- | ship cup, which Miss Cooper accepted on I his behalf. The side-shows did great business, the haunted cavern again proving a very popular attraction. The champion plate was a new feature, and in the fish pond patrons were emulating Zane Grey in attempts to hook a swordI 1 fish or a* shark. To-night two special 1 attractions are listed, in addition to a concert.
