GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. outside associations' Representation. Mr. Walter W. Massey presided at the first general committee meeting of the Auckland A. end P. Association held in the 1926-27 season, yesterday afternoon. A communication was received from the secretary of the Seddon Technical College (Mr. G. J. Park), informing the Society that the Technical School Board had.decided to promote an Agricultural Advisory Committee to make recommendations and suggestions to the Board of Managers in respect to the improvement and extension of the agricultural work of the college. The A. and P. Association was asked if it was willing to appoint one of their number ac a member of the Advisory Committee referred to. The letter stated that it was also proposed to ask the following association-; to provide a member each: Young Citizens' League, Auckland Provincial Farmers* Union, Wool, Seed and Manure Merchants' Association, and the Fruitgrowers' Association. Mr. A. D. Bell was appointed the A. and P. Association's representative. It was decided to call tenders for the erection of sheep and pig pavilions on the show grounds. The vafious committees for the coming year were appointed. , In future the Finance Committee will be known as the Finance and Advisory Committee. A suggestion made by Mr. A. D. Bell, vice-president, was to the effect that all A. and P. Associations in the Auckland Province should be asked to appoint representatives on the Auckland A. and P. General Committee, especially seeing that this was Royal Show year, and the ;whole province was vitally interested. On the motion of Mr. H. Grierson the proposal waa unanimously adopted. The question of holding evening meetings of the General Committee was discussed. Members were of the opinion that -a, change from the present system would not be good business. It was decided, therefore, to continue meeting as usual at .1.15, pirn, on specified Friday's. In answer to a question, the chairman said there was nothing to prevent select committees meeting in the' evening if it was desired.
