INVESTMENT STOCKS' QXTIET. MINING MARKET FLUCTUATES. As was" to be expected, investment stocks did-not-see much business as long as the position in Britain was so gloomy owing to industrial troubles. When, however,-the news was published that thc-genlertfl strike had ended; the slight decline' in the selling price for various lines was quickly recovered. Buyers came in 'again for most lines that had Taeen—negleeted. Soldiers' 5* per cent Loan, Inscribed, were placed at £99 13/. Inquiry was also made yesterday for the • 4J slid 5 per cent Loans at £9G 5/ and f97 05/, respectively. • Buyers now quoto £50 for Colonial Sugar Refining Company stock, butnb sellers were disclosed. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency ordinary etock are wanted at £94 10/, and the preference could 'be placed at £79 10/. Buye>S'came in yesterday for Dalgety, Ltd., at £16, Trut no selling rate was quoted. Mt. Eden 6£ per cent Loan are now offered at £108, but buyers will rot advance .beyond £102. Milne and Choyee debentures are inquired for at £95, - with-no seller quoted. Auckland Gas '5 per tient debentures are wanted at £89, and Harbour Board 4 per cent could be Islaced'af;.£B.4 10/.
