MUNICIPAL BAND
The Municipal Band plays at the Zoological Park to-morrow (Sunday) afternoon at 2.45, when a very fins musical programme will be presented, containing several new numbers. Wagner's nobls overture, "Rienzi" and a splendid selection from Verdi's " Ernani " are the outstanding numbers. Other items are: March. "Felix Diaz"; hymn, " Hollingside "; intermezzos, " Dainty Butterfly" aud "Starlight"; entr'acte, "The Valley of Poppies"; waltz, "Las Golondrincs," and march, " Hurrah, Boys." On Sunday evening at the Town Hall, the band will give a musical recital, when popular items by the band and soloists will be rendered. Under section 331 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, authority is given to local authorities to make advances for the erection of workers' dwellings. The rate of interest at which these moneys may be borrowed has been brought into conformity with the rate on loans from the State Advances Office, namely, 5J per cent, and an Order-in-Council sets out what half-yearly instalments on municipal housing loans are to be paid under the revised principal and interest tables.
