i | The duck-shooting season opened last .week-end, and it is neeessary'to record ithe fact that there were incidents of a \ most unsportsmanlike nature on the part of persona unknown (writes "Hooker" in tie "Southland News"). The practice indulged m was that of placing oil on the surface of the water in some of the lagoons, the result being that the ducks would, not land. The culprits deserve to be met with summary justice, the practice being one that is beneath the contempt of sportsmen. It is better to iortr'y and protect yourself against the "Fin" by freely using Nazol, than to go down, with it. and then, try io get better.—>( Ad.)
