Notwithstanding the protests made last year by some of the delegates and the undertaking that was given by the president of the Trotting Conference, that every endeavour would be made to avoid a clashing of dates, the annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Conference has again been fixed to be held on the same day as the New Zealand Racing Conference, the date being Wednesday, July 7, says a Southern writer. The Racing Conference date was announced a week before that of the Trotting Conference, so the responsibility must rest with the latter body. The clashing of the meetings of these two bodies means considerable inconvenience to those delegates who are appointed to act at both conferences, and the selection of another date should surely have presented no insuperable difficulties. There is plenty of time yet for a little reason to prevail.
