STRIKES CENTRE POLE.
JDNCONSCTOUS ON REAR PLATFORM.
A tram conductor, Mr. W. Sullivan, residing at Selwyn Road, Onehunga, met with a rather unusual accident yesterday afternoon. He w r as rendered unconscious through striking his head against a tramway pole in Customs Street East, and was removed to the Auckland Hospital in a serious condition. ! Nobody appears to have witnessed the ' accident and the plight of the injured I man was discovered only when the motorman, on not receiving any signals from the conductor, made investigations. i He found him lying unconscious on the I rear platform of the car. ' An operation is being performed on ! Mr. Sullivan this afternoon.
