LEVEL CROSSING.
| TUAKAU'S DANGER SPOT. "WIG-WAG" SIGNALS APPROVED. One of the most dangerous level railway crossings in the Auckland district is that at the foot of George Street, Tuakau, and despite repeated representations by the Tuakau Town Board to have an overhead bridgp erected, the Railway Department will not budge unless the town board agrees to contribute half the cost, which is estimated to run into several thousands of pounds. This the town board refuses to do. Another organisation, the Franklin •branch of the Auckland Automobile Association, recently took up the cudgels in the interests of all concerned, particularly, motorists, and urged the Department to erect automatic warning signals. The secretary, Mr. Malcolm Campbell, has received advice from the Minister of Railways, the Hon. J. G. Coates, to the effect that the installation of "wig-wag" signals at the crossing ill question had been approved, and that jthe work would be put in hand an [early date.
