RAILWAY PRESENTATION.
To show their appreciation of his promotion in the service the guards of the Auckland Railway staff entertained one of their number, Mr. T. Glasgow, and presented him with an enlarged framed photograph of the Auckland station guard*. Mr. Glasgow has been appointed sight examining officer for the North Island. Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent for the North Island, presided over a representative gathering of railway men from all grades and branches of the service. The chairman referred to Mr. Glasgow's 28 years in the service. He joined it as a junior porter, and fiis career had been a worthy one. Mr. Glasgow's present position was one in which the Railway Department had placed him with the belief that he possessed the confidence of his fellowworkers as well as that of the officers. Mr. K. Carroll and .Mr. G. Kvitt, of the Loco Department, also made reference to the pleasure thny had in attending the function to do honour to an old <_*d *»t*e*»c_. comrade,
