MANCHESTER UNITY.
GRAND LODGE VISITS OTAHUHU.
The Grand Lodge officers of the Auckland* District, Manchester Unity, paid a visit to the Loyal Franklin Lodge, Otahuhu, on Thursday evening. There was a very large gathering in the public hall, including representatives from Papatoetoe, Remuera, Good Intent. St. Helicr's, Te Puke, Papakura, Calliope, Matamata, and Pukekohe. The honours of the order were bestowed on the district officers and visiting lodges. Grand Master W. Best returned thanks for the reception accorded the visitors. The district corresponding secretary, Bro. ,T. McLeod, gave an address on "Oddfellowship." A presentation of a jewel and bar was made to P.G. Bro. H. Jackson, and a jewel was presented to P.G. Bro. J. Hotham, for gaining 40 or more new members and 20 or more respectively, by D.D.G.M. Bro. Perry. Musical items" were supplied by Sister Fowler and Miss Butler. Before the party dispersed the district treasurer, Bro. J.Clark, presented P.G. Bro. N. Hill with a Past Grand's emblem. Music was supplied by Miss West's, orchestra.
