NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED.
MOTOR CYCLISTS FINED. "AIDING AND ABETTING." (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, this day. The police are determined to put a stop to the practice of carrying passengers,on the rear of motor cycles. In the Magistrate's Court two passengers were convicted, along with the drivers of the motor cycles, by Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., and were ordered to pay costs, while the drivers were fined. The act of riding on the rear of a motor cycle is described by the police as "aiding and abetting in the commission of the offence of carrying a passenger on a motor cycle in another place than in' a side car attached." . . - Sergeant Roach said that the prosecution of the passengers was another way of discouraging the practice.
