The suspicions of two policemen were
aroused,; and. when, the ofllcer's went to arrest the men; Long pulled out a revolver and fired five shots at them. Ohe. officer was slightly wdnuded In- fob Eh hands... Long's five years were spent: in Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum. After■ivdrds' he was transferred to- a. county
asylum. Friends later secured his removal to" tie private institution at'Peckiam.
Though once classed as "dangerous,'J he is said to be harmless, and his friends had hoped to .be able to- take hint away from Peckham. in a few weeks' time.
