FALL OF EARTH.
YOUKG MAN INJURED. ACCIDENT AT WAIUKU. A single man, Mr. L. Dyke, aged about 24 years, was admitted to the Franklin Memorial Hospital yesterday suffering fr.om injuries sustained through a fall of earth at Waiuku. It appears that be backed a lorry into a pit and was about to load it when a fall of earth overwhelmed him. Others who were present extricated him as soon as possible, and after receiving attention from Dv. McKenzie, he was sent to the hospital. Upon inquiry being made this morning it was ascertained that Mr. Dyke was progressing favourably. He was considerably bruised, but the full extent of his injuries has not yet been determined.
