"TRAIN JUMPERS."
RIDING WITHOUT TICKETS. ESCAPADE OF TWO YOUTHS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Found in the recess at the back of the guard's van on the North-bound Limited at Frankton Junction this mortaing, without tickets and with only 5/8 between them, two youths named Ernest Herbert Nicholas Howell and Richard Ma her, were charged at the Court to-day with being idle and disorderly, with having no visible means of support, and with attemptiong to evade payment of railway fares. Sergeant Cooper stated that the pair left Christchureh with a view to obtaining work in Auckland, but ran out of money on the way. The Magistrate suggested that per-haps-there was some rason for the young fellows leaving home and remanded them until Monday to enable inquiries io be made at Christchureh.
