TEST BEATS TEACHERS.
Most of the 200 professors, teachers and students, who were listening to a recent London lecture given by Professor Spearman, on tho measurement of intelligence, were "floored" when he put a simple test to them. He was explaining the tests called "opposites" —the tester says "good" and the tested answers "bad," or the tester says "black" and the tested answers— or should . answer, interposed the speaker —"white." "Now let mc put a test to you," he went .on. "What is the opposite of clumsy?" There was a dead silence for five seconds, and then hesitant voices whispered "dexterous" and "deft." The rest of the two hundred heaved sighs of relief. ..--'•-*- ---"Yes, they would do," commented the professor. "Most people would say -carefiaV which would not he correct.-
