The visitors won the toss and batted first, but failed to make the most of their opportunity, being disposed of for the verl moderate total of 127. The only batsmen to make a stand were! Robertson" (35), J. Scholium (IS), G. Lockett (13), and J. Reeves (14). Bernau took six wickets for 46, ani Treadwell three wickets for 26. Wanganul. on stumps being drawn, hit scored 6S without loss; Orr 3S, Wood 27. LOW SCORES ALL ROUND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) . "WANGANUL this daj. The Hawke Cup match was resumed today In fine weather. Wanganui, with 68 runs up without loss, continned, but made a poor showing and were all ont for 180 (Orr 42, Wood 67, Bernau 31, Cave not out 19, Williams 17). Kills took six wickets for 57. At the lunch adjournment Poverty Bay had lost two wickets in the second inningi for 34.
