ONEHUNGA SCHOOLS.

> ■ PKOPOSED TE PAPAPA DIVISION. A meeting of the Onehunga Schools Committee was held on Tuesday night, when Mr. C. E. Goode presided.-TJie Board of Education forwarded a petition which it had received from residents at To Papapa asking for the constitution of a-" separate -school district at Te Papapa. The school there is urfder- the control of the Onehunga School Committee, as Te Papapa is in the borough of .Opehunga.- The committee resolved to recommend' the Education Board to grant the' prayer of the petitioners, I . . The Te Papapa school is overcrowded ap4. urgently in need of increased accommodation for the infant class At present there are 101 children being taiight in a room where there should only be 00. The Education Board will be asked to mak(S : the accommodation at the" school cojnmensurate with the growing demand. The committee will meet the board's iarchitect -when he inspects the Onehung*: school with a view to making necessary improvements to 'the buildings and grounds. They also resolved to support the efforts of the teaching staff to raise funds I>y a Paddy's market for the benefit of the school.
