TE AWAMUTU TOURNAMENT. ROCKY NOOK WINS SEMI-FINAL. TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. • The semi-final of the bowling tournament was played this afternoon between Rocky Xoofc (O. Sidler, A. Ashbury, G. Milner, H. C. Clarke) and WbJtlora (Michell, W. Borrow, Land. H. C. Loveridee). The weather was more favourable that that prevailing in the morning, but a strong wind proved tricky. The Play. Both teams were patchy for the first few heads, and at the seventh Clarke was leading B—<3. On the eichth Loverldse got one and on the next killed the head with a great drive. The replay saw 'Loveridge lying three, but Clarke put up a nice second with his last bowl. The ninth head saw a wonderful exhibition of bowling, eight bowls being within two . feet of kitty on a long head, from which Clarke secured one. Loverldge got one on the next, and was holding two on the next until Clarke, with a drivp, removed them and notched two himself. Clarke secured a one and a two in the next heads, making the score 14 —5 on the 13th head. Whitiora livened up at this stage and secured three on the next. Clarke saved well on the next by drawing shot with his last bowi, when he was four down. Two to Loveridce on the 17th and 18th made the score 15 —12 in- favour of Cla.rke. The 19th saw a keen . tusslp, Loveridge holding two until Clarke with his-last disturbed the head, leaving Loveridge one. The 20th head saw Loveridee break up the hend, but kitty did not quite jfo dead, and -Clarke- drew the absolute. The last head saw Clarke secure another, and thus win by 17—13.

The final between Rocky Nook (Clarke) and Onehunga (Robertson) will be played to-morrow morning.
