PROTEST TO COUNCIL,
A deputation representing residents of Parnell, and members of the St. George's Bay Rowing Club, waited upon the City Council last evening to protest against'the proposal to close Judge's Bay to owners of small boats. The Mayer (Mr. G. Baildon) said that the council was just as anxious as tbe residents to preserve the bay and the residents could rest assured the matter would be given every consideration. Subsequently the Mayor informed the council that he and Mr. T. Bloodworth had paid a visit to the bay and conversed with residents and railway officials. The latter gave an assurance that nothing would be done for six months. In view of this he moved that the council defer any further action for six months. This was agreed to. A suggestion that owners of boats should be informed they would not be allowed to winter the boats on the beach was referred to the Parks Committee.
