—i ■ . —+■■ . . HANDSOME DONATION RECEIVED. FROM MEAT PRODUCERS' BOARD. A handsome donation towards prize money to be allotted at the Royal Show, which will be held in Auckland this year, has been received by the managing secretary, Mr. A. D. Stanley, from the New Zealand Meat ProelucerS' Board. The sum is £60. It has been requested that it should be divided into two i classes. Class one is for lambs most suitable for the Dominion's export trade, and the type most desired to keep up New Zealand's reputation on the London market. The prizes in this particular class are: first, £15; second, £10; and third, £5. A qualification is made that each pen is to consist of three lambs, each individual lamb in the pen not to exceed 72rb live weight. Purebred lambs will not be allowed to compete. Class 2 provides that all lambs entered are- to be killed and subsequently shipped Home to the Meat Producers' London manager, who will arrange a special display of them on the Smithfield markets. The quality of the carcases will be judged by three judges, who will be appointed by the British Incorporated Society of Meat Lmporters, and prizes for the best lot of three carcases are the same as in class one.
