AND NEVER HEARD." LONDON, February 25. '•There are two things an Englishman never reads: —the Bible and an Act of Parliament," said the Marquess of Lincolnshire (who, as Lord Carrington, was Governor of New South Wales from 1885-90), at the Liberal party's recent land convention. He also remarked that every Englishman had a statutory right to own a bit lof land, but was unaware of the fact.
