N.Z. TRADE COMMISSIONER.
AN ]if PROVED STATUS. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. It is announced that in appointing Mr. L. B. Beale His Majesty's Trade Commissioner, in Xew Zealand, in succession to Mr. Xoel Elmslie. the Imperial Government has raised the status of the post to first grade rank, thus indicating the importance which it attache-; to Britain's trade relations with the Dominion. Mr. Beal, in addition to a wide commercial experience, enjoys a reputation as one of the most efficient and popular officers in the trade commissioner service. Mr. R. W. Dalton, Senior Trade Commissioner in Australia, who has been deputed to take charjre of the Xew Zealand post, pending Mr. Beale's arrival in April, will arrive at AYellinj,ton about March 8.
