WEATHER DURING WEEK END.
1 HEAVY RAIN YESTERDAY. PALL OF .84 INCHES. Changeable weather prevailed at Auckland during the week-end, and the : conditions up till yesterday mid-day ; were somewhat boisterous. I On Saturday afternoon a number of heavy rain squalls caused interruptions to cricket, tennis, bowling and other outdoor sports, and the conditions, generally, were very unpleasant. The weather improved during the evening, but there was a recurrence of rain after midnight. At daybreak the rain set in and fell steadily until 10 o'clock. After that hour the weather commenced to improve, and the afternoon was fine, with plenty of warm sunshine. To-day the conditions appear more settled, there being a light breeze from the south-east. The rainfall for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday amounted to .84 inches, : and for the corresponding period ended 'at that hour to-day to .01 inches. I
