WARSHIP CASSIOPEE.
ARRIVES NEXT MONDAY. UNIT OF FRENCH NAVY. The warship Cassiopee, the only unit of the French. Navy, stationed '. in the South Pacific,, is expected to arrive at Auckland from "Wellington on Monday. The Cassiopee, which is a sloop of 700! tons, has replaced the Aldebaran. She j carries a crew of 109 all told. On arrival's on Monday the Cassiopee will berth at' the western side of the Central wharf. She will remain in. port until March 1, when she will sail for Tahiti. DEPARTURE FOR AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The French warship Cassiopee sailed for Auckland this morning. OFFICERS AT PALMERSTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Friday. Three officers from the French sloop Cassiopee arrived in Palmerston' North from Wellington to-day, and were . the guests of the local bodies. They were : entertained at luncheon, the Mayor (Mr.! Nathan) presiding, and were afterwards: taken on a tour of the town and its ! environs. They returned to Wellington j in the afternoon. "
