Cnate=. and party arrived here last evening from Napier, after having spent some time en route inspecting .'onstruction works on the F.a.-t Coast railway. Mr. Coates was tendered a civic reception at the Gaiety Theatre, wiiere he was welcomcnl by a large and enthusiastic crowd, including repre-sentatives of all local bodies. Sjicakinir in responir to the welcome by the Mavnr and ro-.mtv chairman, ;]«> Pr'me Mini«tf>r touched on many matter- of interest, and rpeeived several deputations.
