RUSSIAN COURIER KILLED.
IHREAT FROM THE SOVIET. LATVIAN GOVERNMENT. (Received 10.30 a.m.) RIGA, February 12. Borkusevitch, the Soviet representative at Riga, handed the Latvian Foreign Minister a Note protesting against the failure of the Latvian Government to reply to the Soviet demand that Soviet representatives participate in an investigation into the murder of the Soviet courier Nette, accusing the Latvian Government of unwillingness to clear up the circumstances of the attack, and declaring that unless the Soviet representatives are given every facility to investigate the affair the Soviet will draw its own conclusions, and act accordingly.— (Keuter.) The Soviet courier Nette, travelling on the Moscow-Riga train, was killed in, Latvian territory by two men, who gained access to the compartment and attempted to seize his baggage. An alarm wa3 given, and the train guards hurried to the compartment and engaged in a fusillade with the assailants, who committed suicide.
