CAR DIVES INTO SEA.

Mr. Reuben Stevens, an adult Maori from Maori pa, was driving the car, accompanied by Mr. Mason Bailey, a married Maori, aged If , . After rounding Magazine Point, on Rocks Road, the car swerved to the cliff side of the road and then headed almost straight for the sea wall, breaking the guard chains on the wall and falling nose first on the sea and rocks below, a distance of about 6ft.
The car struck head first and turned over, with its head facing the shore. Mr. Bailey was pinned underneath and drowned. Mr. Stevens is suffering from slight injuries and from cold and exposure. It is feared that complications may set in. Two boys. Jack Franci* Heath and Arthur Neville Heath, who were also in the car, escaped almost uninjured.
