DEFRAUDING A VICAR.
STRANGE STORY AT SHREWSBURY. A remarkable story was told at ShrewsWmry curing the bearing of charges against William Richard Jones (22), labourer, of •obtaining £1 by false pretences, and £3 10/ from the Rev. Leonard Nevrby, the vicar Of St. Julian's, Shrewsbury. Jones u-as stated by the police to haTe been married in 1019, but never to have supported his wile, but Mr. Xewby said that on the evening of November 30 Jones came to -him, represented himself to be Earned Vaushan, to be a pariehioner of St Julian's, and to be a former choir boy at that church.
