FAREWELL BY 'PHONE.
LEAP FROM BRIDGE. "I have rung you up to saj good-bye." "Are j-ou going away?" "Xo, can't you guess? I'm going over Waterloo Bridge at 12 midnight." Two speakers, one in London, the other In Fleet, Hampshire, conducted this conversation over the telephone before .one ot them committed suicide. The speaker from London was Mr. Thomas William Skinner, aged 39, formerly a licensed victualler, of Fleet, whose body was taken from the Thames at Wapping. He told Mr. WiUiam Carey, licensee or the Prince of Wales Hotel, Fleet, whom he liad rung, up by telephone, that be had Dad a lot of worry and it would he of no use trying to put matters right. 'Hγ. Carey at once informed the local police, but Skinner carried out his purpose. The widow said her husband's hat ana roat were iound on a seat on Waterloo Bridge. Suicide while of unsound mind was the verdict.
