MAORI CHURCHES.
STRONG RATANA CULT. According to a return in this week's Government <;a/.ette of ministers licensed to officiate at marriages in New Zealand, the strongest Maori Church in the Dominion is th<? Ratana Church of New Zealand, whose head i< 'Wiremu Ratana Tahupotiki. claiming 102 minister--, or ''apostles." The other Maori churches mentioned arc two in number, the Church of the Seven Rules of Jehovah, which has half a dozen licensed ■ ministers, and the Ringatu Church I ichurch of "the uplifted lmnd"i with also six ministers.
